Truck bed bodies for service industry and utility trucks by Highway Products.

Service bed body used for work truck by contractors

Lifetime Warranty!

No Imports - We make what we sell!

Over 30 reasons to buy your truck body from Highway Products. Plus, over 20 .pdf drawings of our service bodies! (See below)

Reason #1 Every business is unique. Your company does things different from other companies even in the same industry. Why shouldn't the biggest tool, your service body, be unique as well? You have to agree, building your body the way you want it will save time, which is money. We call it "Lean". $$$ That's what Highway Products can do for you.

Reason #2 Your Truck Body Must Be Weather-Tight!

Our Rainmaster® style doors give your truck body a weather-tight seal that can't be beat!

This picture shows a corner shot of the water proof design Highway Products has on their service bodies.

Highway Products developed this unique Rainmaster® style of internal rain gutter in 1984 for our semi and heavy truck tool boxes. It was so successful we carried it over to our truck body products. You can see the simplicity of this design makes sense and is very weatherproof.

Notice the rugged rain-gutter design surrounds the box opening and actually channels water away before it makes contact with the Trim-lok™ automotive style weather stripping. Hence the name Rainmaster®

  Truck Bodies Need Tough Components
Reason #3 No-rust Marine Grade Aluminum. Pavati Marine aluminum boats.
Used to build our line of PAVATI™ pro-series boats, marine grade aluminum is also used to make these truck bodies the toughest and lightest bodies you will find. We use lots of aluminum to build our products. In fact, 95% of our products are made of this great material. No rust.

Reason #4 Truck Bodies Should be Light Weight

Light Weight Saves Fuel - Saves Wear and Tear on your Vehicle.Give you more payload capacity .

Highway Products 8' Aluminum Service body= 645 pounds

Competitor 8' steel service bodies = 1200 - 1600 pounds

Save $6,000 per year in fuel !!

Reason #5 - Fact: Aluminum is about half the weight of average sized steel or fiberglass (composite) service bodies; which equals 600 -1000 pounds. Depending on your truck, we figure, conservatively, you will save at least .20 cents a mile being 600 to 1000 pounds lighter with a Highway Products aluminum service body.

If you put 30,000 miles per year on your truck, 30,000 x .20 cents equals $6,000.00.
Adds up quickly doesn't it.

Use the example below to figure your savings from your mileage last year.

Example: .20cents X 30,000 annual mileage = $6,000.00 savings.

Truck service bodies built custom to your specs by Highway Products, Inc.

Reason #6 What's the biggest threats to service bodies? Answer: Rust and cracking.

Rust is the number one killer of service bodies. Especially in the northeast regions of the USA where salt is used for ice control. Steel just does not hold up to it. You can put all the fancy coatings you want on steel but they cannot withstand the constant sand blasting from the road and they can't paint the nooks and crannies where moisture sneaks into. They may look good from the topside but underneath is where they get blasted and underneath is where they fall apart. Some service bodies don't last more than a year.

We use a marine grade aluminum that is used by boat manufacturers world wide. We also make aluminum boats so we've already been there. You don't need to paint them at all and they should last longer than you do.

Fiberglass (composite) bodies crack. Repairs are hard to do and expensive.

Reason #7 What is the resale value of an average size aluminum service body you might see on a 3/4 ton pickup truck compared to a steel or fiberglass (composite) service body after 4 years? Estimate - $500 - $1500 in good shape. Aluminum $4000 - $6000 in good shape.

With an aluminum service body it makes sense to transfer the body to your next truck. Why not. A steel bed will cost you more to transfer than the body is worth. Add a new coat of paint and you look brand new!

Reason #8 How do you put a price on wear and tear? An aluminum truck body can save thousands on the purchase of a 3/4 ton truck where a steel or fiberglass body might require a 1 ton truck. Maybe a 1/2 ton instead of a 3/4 ton truck. Then you can figure the cost difference between the two in fuel mileage, tire cost, and tire mileage. You can probably think of a few more.

This unit has paid for itself already.

Reason #9 Field-Tested Locks - The same rugged locks and hinges our legendary semi truck tool boxes are know for.

Highway Products opened it's doors in 1980 building products for semi trucks.

The stainless steel "Tee Lock" was the only lock capable of the demanding performance required. It's strong and dependable. That's why we install them as standard.

We also have D-ring locks for fire departments. We've used many different styles of locks over the years. If you have a favorite, let us know.

Warning: Do Not Buy Service Bodies with Electric key-fob locks. We've tried them all and they are not dependable. We stopped using them.

Reason #10 Proven Hinges 14 Gauge Stainless Steel - 1/4 inch pin.

One of the most over-looked and under-estimated parts of a truck body is the hinge and the way it's fastened.

As you can see, Highway Products eliminated this problem by using oversized stainless steel hinges.

Plus, Highway Products uses Stainless Steel Torx™ screws that allows user to replace a door with simple tools in case of damage. No rivets here. Rivets work loose over time and you need special tools to replace them.

Service Body hinge

Why buy from Highway Products?
Reason #11 - We can build you a custom truck body!

If you've ever had custom made cabinets in your kitchen at home, you know how nice it is to have the drawers the right size, in the right place, shelves spaced to hold your dishes where you want them, knives and forks at your fingertips, and you get to choose the wood, the drawer slides, colors, handles, etc. Because you had a choice, your kitchen is the most efficient and maybe the nicest part of your home. A custom service body does the same thing.

Reason #12 Take your parts to the job.
Lift-out trays with dividers!

Bet you've not seen this before. We've been doing this for years. Not only do they make great storage bins, you can take them with you to the job!

Note: This is not an option. It's standard on all our service bodies!

Reason #13 The best way to keep organized.
Drawers to your specs
! One of the biggest time savers in a service body. We make lots of them.

Think about this for a minute: The tools you use the most should be at waist level for the easiest access, right? So have us build that drawer the perfect size to accommodate that or those tools.

Reason #14 Adjustable shelves, of course! Necessary for larger items like power tools.

mechanic body

Reason #15 We've got options like this "Roller Coaster"™ slide out bed to speed you up and save your back. Lumber racks, hatch-backs, lights........

utility body for service industry

Reason #16 - Low entry design top-side tool boxes - see your parts. Don't overlook this standard feature. Standing on your tippy-toes gets old when you're working out of your truck for a living. We came up with this slanted design just for you.
"We like this feature."

utility body for service industry

Baskets

Reason #17 - This service body has a basket on one side. It can be sized to your specs, with or with out a locking lid. Great for shovels, PVC fittings, conduit, hoses, and ....... We've made some of these baskets 2 feet tall for big pvc fittings.

utility body for service truck

Carry a lot of parts?

Another shot of our drawers. They're a great way to optimize your truck storage and organization. We use 300 pound ball bearing drawer slides in the small drawers and 400 pound slides in the bigger drawers. "We like this option."

Just tell us where and how many drawers you want.

service body for cable company

Need to haul extra diesel in your service body?

Reason #18 - All aluminum - no rust - no crud - spark resistant - transfer tanks 100% Heli-arc welded and 3/16 thick!

utility body for service company

Add 100 + gallons of diesel fuel to your truck with a 15gpm GPI aluminum pump. Need a custom unit?

service body for the telephone industry

Reason #19 - This customer couldn't find the truck body he wanted so we built one just for him to his specs. Totally enclosed with a front compartment that goes through to the other side. As you can see, this customer had his own preferences. He loved it!

aluminum service body for plumbers

Large double-door boxes opening to the sides allowed easy access to his equipment. Extra-large boxes on the top gave him the space he needed.

utility body for trucks

Reason #20 This all aluminum truck body was set up for garage door service and installation. He needed lots of storage for parts and equipment. Plus a rack to carry roll up doors and ladders. Custom built for his business.

service body for trucks

Reason #21 The front compartment is also open clear through to the other side. Dry storage for longer items is not easy to find on service bodies. This one has lots of it.

Utility Service Body

Reason #22 This service body has a full tailgate that when opened, makes for a nice table for lay-out plans. Notice the two levels in the back. The top level still has lots of room for gear, shovels, or tools while the bottom level is our "Roller Coaster" shown in the closed position.

Mechanics Service Body -2

Reason #23 Here's the Highway Products "Roller Coaster" in the out position. Comes in 2000# or an incredible 4000# capacity for super duty, and has locking positions every 10 inches for safety. An all aluminum sliding cargo tray keeps the weight down with a galvanized cold rolled steel track system for durability. These are awesome! "We like this option"

Reason #24 Highway Products can install your truck body at our factory. Order your truck from Ford, Chevy, Dodge, Toyota, etc. and have it drop-shipped here. We do the factory install and ship it to you or you can pick it up here.

Reason #26

Here's a short movie of our new Flip Hatch.

Spare tires are always tough to find a spot for on a service body. Highway Products has an elevated shelf located in the front of the bed that is hard to use space anyway.

Reason #27 Finding a spot to put your spare tire is sometimes a problem with service bodies. So we came up with this solution. An elevated shelf located in the front of your service body bed. This area is usually a tough spot to utilize anyway, so why not? If you have our "Roller Coaster" option, we can also attach this shelf to the front of it so you can roll it out. Still leaves approx 10 inches of usable space under the tire with room to stash a jack, lug wrench, tire chains, or..... "We like this option."

Service bodies headache racks keep your rear window from expensive damage. Highway Products has many more options available to make your servince body work for you.

Reason #28 Headache racks strong enough to carry as many caution lights, flags, or overload signs as you want. The outside frame is a one-piece extruded aluminum T6 channel that may also save your life in a roll-over. We can add brackets to hold your caution lights, flags, pipe, and more.

Reason #29  Lifetime Warranty! - We'll fix or replace defective workmanship, locks, hinge, and even light bulbs as long as you own your vehicle. (paint excluded)

Reason #30  After hours Sales Staff - We recognize that not all of our customers are able to talk business from 9-5. We're ready to talk when you are. Regular hours 1 800 TOOLBOX (1 800 866 5269) Weekend and After hours till 9pm PST: 541.778.0585

That's 30 reasons to buy an aluminum truck body from Highway Products.

When it comes to truck bodies, aluminum is king.

Composite service bodies are just fiberglass. Aluminum service bodies are lighter and green because they are recyclable

Warning! Don't be fooled by "Composite" Service Bodies! It's just a fancy name for fiberglass. Our service bodies are welded Aluminum which is hands down tougher and 20-30% lighter than fiberglass! That's right 30%. Composite (fiberglass) manufacturers brag about their light weight, but compare themselves with steel service bodies.

When was the last time you saw a fiberglass truck flatbed? Never! Fiberglass just can't take abuse. We also have a line of aluminum boats. Same thing applies. Fiberglass has to be applied very thick to be structural. Making it heavy. And as the picture to the left shows, it cracks.

Plus, fiberglass is sprayed over a mold by hand. Inconsistency's and quality depends on what day it is.. Custom units are not available. Aluminum is stronger, recyclable, easily repairable which is Green. Fiberglass is not green. It goes to the dump.

Thinking about composite or rather fiberglass? Do yourself a favor. Think again.

Save money for years to come! Think about it. "What will save me a few steps every time you use your service body?"

There's lots of brands to choose from, but they offer what they have. Highway Products has standard models too. But we also offer what you need.

And we'll save you money doing it!

(Left) Another example of a body designed from the ground up for a customer who had a good idea of what he wanted. Our engineering staff put his ideas on our CAD software and sent them back to him via FAX, .pdf, or paper, for his approval. Seeing the print gave the customer a few more ideas. So we rebuilt the print and sent it back for his approval again. We made a few more design changes, he signs off on the print, we start to work with a plan. Simple as that.

Nothing is done without a print for your approval. There's no extra cost whether you want to buy one unit or a hundred. "This is just how we do it."

Plus, we do it 7 days a week with after hours Sales Staff waiting to talk about your service body. Think we're kidding? Call 1 541 778 0585
